Food for Fines Week
Do you have fines on your library account? Food for Fines Week returns this semester, March 19-23. Library fines will be forgiven in exchange for donated canned goods or non-perishable items. These donated goods will be passed on to the food pantry at Saint Vincent de Paul.
Fines or fees associated with lost or damaged books, Reserve items, or laptops will not be forgiven.
If you ever find yourself with an empty can or bottle while in the library be sure to put it in the recycling bin located in the Food Zone (look for the Common Cents sign!). Starting Spring 2018 the Library will be recycling these items and donating all proceeds to The College of Saint Rose Student Emergency Fund.
The Student Emergency Fund is a fund from donations made by Saint Rose faculty, staff, and administrators. The fund helps students remain enrolled at the College in times of unforeseen or overwhelming personal circumstance.
Debuting Spring 2018...Ask Us 24/7
Ask Us 24/7 is a virtual chat service that connects people with highly skilled reference librarians. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Users will connect with either a Neil Hellman Library reference librarian or a trained librarian from across the state.
Students, faculty, and staff can use Ask Us 24/7 when they have questions about library services and/or resources or are in need of general research assistance. Look for the Ask Us 24/7 widget on the library homepage!
Did you know college students typically spend between $579-$1298 a year on course materials*? This can be a hardship for many students here at Saint Rose. We encourage all faculty to consider placing course textbooks and other supplemental material on Reserve at The Neil. Many of our students take advantage of Reserve services and appreciate having ready access to these often cost prohibitive course materials.
