Keyword Searching in an Academic Database
Look to your thesis statement or research question for select keywords and/or phrases that express your idea or topic.
Write your keywords/phrases down! Keep track of them and build your list.
Think of different ways of saying the same thing - i.e. synonyms
Try many different combinations - take advantage of the database connectors (and, or, not)
Remember to set limits in the database - this can include date of publication and types of publication (i.e. scholarly)
