Library Services and Resources During the Pandemic
For the health and safety of the Saint Rose community, there will be limited physical access to the Neil Hellman Library (NHL) for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to a portion of the Main Floor of the library will only be granted to students, staff, and faculty who have a valid College of Saint Rose ID. STUDENTS MUST HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST ON FILE, PER THE COLLEGE'S SPRING 2021 TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR BUILDING ACCESS. This access will be for 2-hour increments and by appointment only. Borrowing of NHL material, including Course Reserve, will only be offered through our new Library Takeout service. There will be no physical access to the Curriculum Library (CL) for the duration of the pandemic. Borrowing of CL material will only be offered through our new Library Takeout service.

Limited Physical Access to the Neil Hellman Library
Physical access to the NHL for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic will be limited and strict health and safety measures will be enforced at all times. Non-compliance with these measures will result in an immediate 1-day closure of the library to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting.
General Rules
- An appointment is mandatory for physical access. (Make an appointment HERE )
- Appointments will only be available to current students, staff, and faculty who have a valid CSR ID card.
- STUDENTS MUST HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST ON FILE, PER THE COLLEGE'S SPRING 2021 TESTING REQUIREMENTS, TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
- Appointments are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Valid users may be limited to 1 appointment a day if demand exceeds capacity. Please cancel appointments if you will not be using a slot, as a courtesy to other students and library staff.
- Individuals with appointments may begin lining up in the designate area 15 minutes prior to the start of their appointment.
- Individuals with appointments will be required to show a valid CSR ID card before being allowed entry.
- Individuals with appointments will have 10 minutes from the start of their time slot to enter the building, after which the door will be shut and access will no longer be granted.
- Access is limited to a designated portion of the Main Floor – no access to any other floors is permitted.
- There are a limited number of computers available. Individuals can print from desktop computers, laptops, or mobile devices.
- Individuals with appointments will not have access to the general collection or reserve material. Books may be requested through our Library Takeout service.
- Reentry to the building will not be permitted.
- Individuals must promptly exit the library at the end of their appointment to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting.
Health and Safety Measures
- Health and safety measures will be strictly enforced at all times. Non-compliance with these measures will result in an immediate 1-day closure of the library to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting.
- A mask or face covering is required at all times.
- Social distancing rules must be followed at all times – no group work allowed.
- When entering the building everyone is required to use hand sanitizer before selecting a seat.
- Individuals may sit in any open seat but furniture may not be moved. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
- Individuals using a library computer must clean the keyboard and mouse before and after use. Wipes will be provided.
- No food allowed. Covered drinks are permitted.
- The Main Floor restroom is now gender neutral. Access is limited to one user at a time.

Circulation Services
Communicate with Circulation staff during regular library hours via phone or Email . Get in touch if you have questions about borrowing library books, Course Reserve material, fines/fees, or library holds in Banner.
Use our new Library Takeout service to access a variety of items from the Neil Hellman Library and Course Reserve. Simply fill out our online Library Takeout form and library staff will contact you when your item is available for safe, contactless pickup.

Interlibrary Loan and Scan4U
Interlibrary Loan will continue to process both article and loan requests. ILL users should be aware that it may take lon ger than usual for some requests to be filled as many lending libraries are offering limited services during th e pandemic. This is especially true for book requests, which we may not be able to fill due to unavaila bility of lenders. Borrowers are encouraged to plan ahead and give plenty of lead time for requests to be filled. Instructions for doorside pickup will be provided by the ILL office as loans become available.

Curriculum Library
The Patricia Standish Curriculum Library (CL), located in Lally, will be physically closed to the campus, and wider community, for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic for health and safety reasons. Library staff are working hard to support the teaching of all fa culty and instructors. We encourage you to take advantage of our regular and enhanced services and/or resources during this time:
Remote Reference Service: Including teaching support for faculty and instructors.
Electronic and Physical Resources: Access to electronic databases, eBooks and eJournals, as well as doorside access to physical resources shelved in both the Neil Hellman and Curriculum Libraries.
Course Reserve: Reinvented and enhanced for the duration of the pandemic.
Information Literacy Instruction: Delivered online in both synchronous and asynchronous formats .
CREDO Instruct: Online videos, tutorials, and quizzes, covering a variety of information literacy concepts, that can be embedded in Canvas.
Course Material Resources and Support: Library-owned and open educational resources for use in lieu of traditional textbooks or as supplemental material. Librarians are ready to assist with searching and selecting.
