Library Takeout
Library Takeout is a new service that gives you access to a variety of items from the Neil Hellman Library for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Simply fill out an online Library Takeout F ORM and library staff will contact you when your item is available for contactless pickup.
General Rules and Information
It may take up to 24 hours for your item(s) to be available for pickup, depending on when your order is submitted and Library Takeout pickup hours. Most orders placed during regular library hours will be available the same day.
General collection items are due on 11/25. You can, however, take general collection items home with you if you will need them for papers and/or projects. These items must be returned within 30 days of the start of the Spring 2021 semester or fines/fees will be charged.
Course Reserve items are due 24 hours from pick up.
Use the dropbox to the left of the entrance to return all material 24/7.
Fines and fees for general collection items will be waived as long as the items are returned to the library with 30 days of the start of the Spring 2021 semester. Note: Fines will apply to Course Reserves items. Fines exceeding $20.00 will result in a hold in Banner.

General Collection Items at the Neil Hellman Library
Once you have identified a general collection item you are interested in borrowing (either in AllKnightSearch or the library CATALOG ) simply fill out an online Library Takeout F orm and library staff will contact you when your item is available for contactless pickup.
Course Reserve
Check the online Course Reserve CATALOG to find out if your course material is available at the Neil Hellman Library. You can search by your instructor's name or by your course number. If an item is available use the Library Takeout form to place a request to borrow the item.
T extbooks, Workbooks, and DVD's: Request Course Reserve textbooks, workbooks, and DVD's using the Library Takeout Form . These items can be borrowed for 24 hours.
Non-Textbooks: If your instructor has placed non-textbook material on Course Reserve they will provide access to this material via CANVAS.
NOTE: All Course Reserve items will be placed on 96-hour quarantine when they are returned by borrowers as a precautionary measure. This will likely lead to delays in access to Course Reserve material and we encourage students to plan accordingly. Reserves textbooks will be available on a first come, first served basis. DVD's are the only exception to this rule - they will be disinfected upon return and will be available immediately.
How does contactless pickup work?
The Neil Hellman Library is using a contactless pickup protocol for the duration of the pandemic in order to ensure the health and safety of the Saint Rose community. This is what contactless pickup looks like:
1. Library staff contacts you when your Library Takeout order is available for pickup.
2. You arrive at the entrance to the Neil Hellman Library anytime during Library Takeout hours. Be sure to wear a proper mask or face covering for the duration of your Library Takeout pickup.
3. Call the Circulation Desk: 518-650-3852. Provide library staff with your full name and let them know you are here to pick up your Library Takeout order.
4. Be prepared to show your CSR ID card through the window when prompted.
5. Once your identity has been verified, back away from the door and move to the far side of the designated Library Takeout table.
6. You are welcome to grab your order as soon as library staff drops it off and moves away from the table.
I nstructions for contactless pickup will be posted at the entrance to the library.
Thank you for helping us make our Library Takeout service safe for everyone!
