Library Research Scholarship

The Library Research Scholarship recognizes undergraduate and graduate exemplary students who demonstrate creativity and thoughtfulness in their approach to research. Students who participate in the annual College of Saint Rose Research Symposium are eligible to compete for the scholarship. Each scholarship winner will receive a cash prize in the form of a check. For the first time in 2023, the library is introducing a graduate level research scholarship. The scholarship categories are as follows:

- Undergraduate Math & Science: First Prize ($250) and Second Prize ($150)

- Undergraduate Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences: First Prize ($250) and Second Prize ($150)

- Graduate Level Overall: $200

Both primary and secondary research projects, from any field of study, are welcome. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of CSR faculty and awards will be presented at the annual College of Saint Rose Research Symposium. Winning posters and excerpts from reflective essays will be displayed in the library and on the library's website after the symposium. This scholarship is made possible by the generous support of the School of Arts & Humanities, the School of Business, the School of Education, and the School of Mathematics and Sciences.

Eligibility

- Must be an undergraduate or graduate student and be enrolled at The College of Saint Rose during the Spring 2023 semester.
- Must participate in the College of Saint Rose Research Symposium on Tuesday, April 18th.
- Must submit an online award application and research poster by 4/7/2023.

Evaluation Criteria

Submission will be evaluated on the following criteria

Research Project and Presentation
The Research Project consists of a poster prepared for and presented at the College of Saint Rose Research Symposium. A complete poster must be submitted along with the scholarship application by 4/7/2023. The judges will then visit each applicant at the research symposium, providing an opportunity for them present their work.

Faculty Statement of Support
